Sonoluminescence is the emission of light by bubbles in a liquid excited by sound.

Four steps are presented :

1. apparition of bubble 2. quick expansion 3. sudden contraction (very short compared to expansion) 4. light produced by the high pressure and high temperatures inside the small bubble
