Samantha Marie Sprackling (born 3 June 1968, Ibadan, Nigeria) more commonly known as Saffron, was the lead singer of the dance band, Republica. She also performed for two years in London's Starlight Express.[1] She speaks fluent Cantonese Chinese.
Following the break up of Republica, she worked with The Cure, appearing on the track "Just Say Yes"; having previously been the featured vocalist on N-Joi's 1990 single "Anthem"; The Prodigy's "Fuel My Fire" (from their 1997 album The Fat of the Land); Deepsky's Smile (from the 2002 album In Silico); and Junkie XL's songs "Crusher", "Spirits", and "Beauty Never Fades" (from his 2004 album Radio JXL: A Broadcast From the Computer Hell Cabin).
She is currently working in a new band, Swarm.
