This is a list of London Underground stations. It includes all stations currently open on the London Underground and Docklands Light Railway, as well as Shepherd's Bush (Central Line) which will reopen in October 2008. The London Underground and Docklands Light Railway networks are operated by Transport for London (TfL) and are located primarily within the Greater London area and north of the River Thames. The majority of the stations are located in the City of London or one of twenty-seven London boroughs.[A] Stations at the north-eastern end of the Central line are located in the Epping Forest district of Essex and at the north-western end of the Metropolitan line are located in the Three Rivers and Watford districts of Hertfordshire and the Chiltern district of Buckinghamshire.

Stations
The following table lists the name of each station, the London Underground or Docklands Light Railway lines serving the station, the local authority and London Travelcard zone,[B] in which it is located and the year in which the station was opened. Details of previous names held by the stations and passenger usage statistics are also provided.
Note that there are three instances where two separate stations share the same name: Edgware Road, Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush, although the last will soon no longer be an issue, with one of the two being renamed in 2008. Note also, that on the Tube map Paddington is shown as two separate stations, although it is in fact one station with access to differing tube lines either side of the mainline platforms.
Acton Town designed by Charles Holden. Belsize Park opened in 1907. Canary Wharf Jubilee Line station. Dollis Hill on the Jubilee Line opened in 1909 as part of the Metropolitan Line and was a Bakerloo Line station between 1939 and 1979. District Line platforms at Earl's Court. Kew Gardens station on a sunny day (Note that the sign on the right is actually a Silverlink Metro (which is now London Overground) sign). Lambeth North was designed by Leslie Green and features characteristic oxblood tiling. Mile End is the only below-ground station to offer a cross-platform interchange between deep tube and subsurface lines. The distinctive roof at Newbury Park station designed by Oliver Hill. Oakwood, at the northern end of the Piccadilly line. The Circle and District Line platforms at Paddington. Queensway prior to the 2005-6 rebuilding. Rayners Lane, looking east. South Kensington was originally a joint Metropolitan Railway and Metropolitan District Railway station. Totteridge and Whetstone in zone 4 still looks more like the rural country station it once was than a station on a major urban network. Uxbridge is served by the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. The London Borough of Lewisham previously had two Underground stations on the East London line but these are currently closed and will transfer to the London Overground network when they reopen in 2010. The London Borough of Hackney has one station located on its western border.
