Career

Improvisation

McBrayer is an experienced improvisational comedian, having performed in Chicago (at I.O. and The Second City's e.t.c. Stage), Los Angeles (iO WEST) and New York City (Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre).[2] He is a member of the New York Baby Wants Candy improv team. He also performs in a two man improv show with Paul Scheer.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien

McBrayer has performed several times on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, often lampooning his own Southern upbringing by playing a stereotypical hillbilly. On August 10, 2007, he made a cameo appearance, playing his character (Kenneth Parcell) from 30 Rock. O'Brien remarked to him, "I thought you were above this now."

Television and film work

McBrayer appeared twice in the television series Arrested Development as a waiter at the country club often visited by the Bluth family (episodes "Burning Love" and "S.O.B.s"). McBrayer currently has a webisode series on Funny or Die.[3] Each episode closes with the tagline, "You don't have to look like a criminal to live like one."

McBrayer was featured in the Nicholas Stoller film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", alongside Jason Segel, Kristin Bell, Mila Kunis and Russell Brand. McBrayer plays "Darald", a southern virgin who is having trouble pleasing his wife on his honeymoon.[4] McBrayer appeared in Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" music video. During the filming of the video, McBrayer accidentally hit Carey in the face with a frisbee.[5] He also had a cameo in Jake Kasdan's film, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story".[6]

He currently stars as Kenneth Parcell, the innocent page, on the NBC series 30 Rock.
