Benoît Lamy

Benoît Lamy (b. September 19, 1945 - d. April 15, 2008 ) was a Belgian motion picture writer-director.

Lamy was born in Arlon, Luxembourg, Belgium and died in Braine-l'Alleud, Walloon Brabant, Belgium.

His filmdebut Home Sweet Home starring Claude Jade and Jacques Perrin won a Diploma award at the Moscow Film Festival. It was also nominated for a Golden Prize award and received 14 international awards from Montréal to Teheran: The residents of the old-age home have had altogether enough. Enough of unreasonable rules, regulations and restrictions which wreak havoc on their dignity and self-respect. Taking matters into their own hands, they stage - supported by the nurse Claire (Claude Jade) and social worker Jacques (Jacques Perrin) - a revolt which comes to the attention of the police.

Along with Gabrielle Borile, their picture Combat de fauves (1997) won a Golden Bayard award at the Namur International Festival of French-Speaking Film.
